Dean’s Office

The Dean’s Office is responsible for:

I – directing, coordinating, inspecting and superintending the administrative activities of the School;

II – calling and presiding over the School Council meetings;

III – approving the School’s budget proposal, based on the departments’ proposals, and forwarding it to the Rectorate for the preparation of the general University budget;

IV – presenting to the Rectorate accountability reports for the annual financial movements;

V – inspecting the execution of the educational scheme, upholding, along with department heads and program coordinators, the rigorous observance of schedules, programs, and faculty and student activities;

VI – comply and ensure compliance with decisions made by the School Council and UFSC’s higher bodies;

VII – approving the vacation calendar proposed by the departments and by the School’s Administrative Support Coordination Office;

VIII – proposing or determining to the competent body the opening of administrative inquiries;

IX – managing the School’s property and facilities;

X – supervising the School’s compliance with the federal education legislation;

XI – enacting its own regulations, as well as delegating competence, within the limits of its responsibilities;

XII – proposing staff allocation within the School;

XIII – exerting disciplinary power within the School;

XIV – summoning elections within the School, including for representatives in the University’s higher councils;

XV – proposing to the School Council or to the University’s central deliberative and executive bodies topics of relevance to the CSE that should be addressed by the referred bodies due to their gravity, complexity or importance.
