Unit’s Directorate

The Directorate of the Unit (CSE) is responsible for:

I- Directing, coordinating, inspecting and superintending the administrative activities of the unit;

II- summoning and presiding over meetings of the Center’s Council;

III – approving the unit’s budget proposal, based on the proposals of departments, forwarding it to the Rectorate for elaboration of the general budget of the University;

IV – presenting to the Rectorate accountability reports for the yearly financial movements;

V – inspecting the execution of the educational regime, upholding, along with department heads and course coordinators, the rigorous observance of schedules, programs and activities of professors and students;

VI – comply and enforce compliance with decisions made by superior bodies of the UFSC and the Center’s Council;

VII – approving the vacation calendar proposed by the departments and by the Center’s Administrative Support Coordination;

VIII – proposing or determining to the competent body the opening of administrative inquiries;

IX – administrating the physical space and patrimony of the unit;

X – supervising the compliance of federal education legislation within the unit;

XI – enact its own normative acts, as well as delegating competence, in the limits of its attributions;

XII – proposing the allocation of the administrative staff within the Center;

XIII – exerting disciplinary power within the unit;

XIV – summoning elections within the unit and for the representatives of the CSE in the collegiate bodies of the Superior Administration;

XV – proposing to the Center’s Council or to the central deliberative and executive bodies of the UFSC topics of relevance to the CSE that, for their gravity, complexity or importance, make advisable escalating them to the audience of the referred bodies.
