Branch Graduate Council

Branch Councils

The structure of CSE includes branch councils, which function as advisory bodies on the school’s teaching, research, outreach and management activities, observing the decisions of the School Council and the higher councils at UFSC.

The branch councils are responsible for:

I – proposing, to the School Council, policies within the scope of its competence;

II – advising the School’s Dean on the preparation of institutional projects and on matters related to the area.

The Branch Graduate Council is composed of:

I – a representative of the Dean’s Office;

II – coordinators of the CSE graduate programs;

III – two student representatives, chosen by their peers, who are enrolled in a graduate program at CSE;

IV – a technical-administrative staff representative who works in a graduate program office, elected by their peers.

The responsibilities of the Branch Graduate Council are:

I – coordinating and articulating, along with other school units involved with graduate-level activities, the formulation, evaluation and monitoring of the CSE graduate policy, submitting it for approval by the School Council and respecting the provisions established by the UFSC Graduate Council;

II – subsidizing the evaluation processes of the graduate courses;

III – supporting the graduate programs in the refinement of their educational organization processes;

IV – supporting review processes of graduate educational projects;

V – promoting interdisciplinarity in the graduate programs;

VI – contributing to the graduate programs in defining their rules on strategic planning, self-evaluation and faculty accreditation and reaccreditation;

VII – assisting in the preparation of calls for applications for the graduate programs;

VIII – articulating the integrated actions of internationalization;

IX – supporting the participation of graduate programs in calls for funding;

X – giving opinions to support the decisions of the School Council on graduate matters;

XI – proposing measures that contribute with student retention in the programs.
