Department Councils
The Department Councils are composed of:
I – head and deputy head of department;
II – all faculty members assigned to the department, including those temporarily assigned.
III – technical-administrative staff members in the ratio of 50% (fifty percent) of the staff assigned to the department, guaranteed the representation of at least one staff member;
IV – representatives of the student body in equal quantity to one fifth of the number of permanent faculty members in the department, appointed by the undergraduate and graduate programs in which the department is responsible for teaching more than 10% (ten percent) of the required course load, guaranteed the representation of at least one graduate student.
Responsibilities of the Department:
The responsibilities of the Department are defined in the General Bylaws of UFSC and in its own Bylaws, which enters into effect after its approval by the School Council.
