About CSE

Entrada do CSEThe School of Socio-Economic Sciences (CSE), created through the integration of the Faculties of Economics and Social Work to the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC) by Law no. 3.849, of 18 December 1960, is an academic unit integrating the structure of UFSC, as foreseen by the University’s Bylaws, approved through Ordinance no. 56/MEC, of 1 February 1982. CSE coordinates teaching, research and outreach activities in the areas of Administrative Sciences, Accounting Sciences, Economic Sciences, International Relations and Social Work, at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.

The responsibilities of CSE are:

I – producing, systematizing and socializing knowledge in its areas of expertise;

II – promoting scientific, technological, social and cultural development, through integrated teaching, research and outreach activities;

III – promoting the training of citizens, following ethical and professional principles that contribute to the improvement of quality of life and the environment;

IV – promoting teaching, research and outreach in an integrated manner for the training of qualified professionals;

V – promoting the training of professionals and researchers who can respond to the specific demands of society within its areas of expertise;

VI – complying with UFSC’s general principles and goals, developing integrated actions with other university units and diverse sectors of society.

CSE is committed to providing autonomous, democratic, ethical, inclusive, innovative, internationalized, public and free education, grounded in a planned, responsible and transparent management, in accordance with the general principles of public administration and the general objectives of UFSC
